Compact design and high power reserves
The square framed design of this range is the key to its high power-to-size ratio. The result is a series of extremely economical drives, which can be easily and precisely controlled by means of single and multi-quadrant DC speed controllers. The reliable and quiet internal cooling combines with the appropriately designed commutation system to provide the basis for the large power reserves, which are required for dynamic positioning applications, for example.
The MGFQU motors are uncompensated. The compensation winding that is a feature of the MGFQK series ensures current/torque proportionality even in the overcurrent range and safeguards against instability in the event of field weakening. These DC motors whose power range extends to over 90 kW are available with various degrees of protection as part of a modular system. They can be combined with gearboxes, brakes and feedback systems as appropriate to the application concerned.

They offer flexibility in terms of installation, with various designs and mounting positions supported. They can be easily combined with gearboxes, brakes and feedback systems. The axial forced ventilation makes for a large control range at full torque.
The motors feature a compensation winding. This ensures torque/current proportionality, which in the case of some motors can be maintained even at 300% overcurrent, thereby enabling dynamic positioning or short-time high starting duty, for example. In the case of IEC frame sizes 90 to 160, powers of 0.33 to 27 kW can be achieved, depending on armature voltage and speed.

The motor sizes have been carefully graded and offer rated torques from 0.8 to 64 Nm (0.25 to 10.0 kW) and peak torques of up to 191 Nm. As a result, finding the optimum motor for any drive task is easy.
Responsive synchronous servo motors for a torque range of between 2.8 and 52 Nm, naturally ventilated or with separate fan.
In today‘s world, much is expected of servo drive systems. MDXKS brushless synchronous servo motors (naturally ventilated or forced ventilated) are your best bet when it comes to meeting this challenge. They are available with power ratings from 1.1 to 5.9 kW. Their high overload capacity and high angular acceleration rates ensure maximum response in conjunction with superb smooth-running characteristics.
An optimum control response is constantly achieved regardless of temperature, because the internal temperature is continually monitored. To improve the service life of the winding, the motors also feature a reinforced insulation system with thermal reserve (enamel-insulated wire - thermal class H, insulation class F). Furthermore, the preloaded roller bearings, which are lubricated with heat-resistant grease, and the IP54 enclosure ensure long-term, maintenance-free operation. The compact design and modular motor concept mean that the MDXKS motors can be adapted for virtually any drive task.
